Cataract surgery

Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness in geriatric patients over the age of eighty.  Cataracts develop slowly over time and cause gradual loss of sight.  Cataracts can affect one, or both eyes, and are not a contagious disease.  Cataracts are treatable through surgery.  Historically cataract surgery has been an expensive option that many patients have been unable to afford.  Until now.  There is a new organization called Cataract Free America that has dedicated itself to making cataract surgery completely affordable, even free in some cases to qualified cataract patients.  The association is made up of United States doctors who will reduce their fees for eligible seniors, accept existing insurance as payment in full (meaning charging no co-pay) and will provide surgery for free for those seniors who have no insurance.
