Well I picked the cat up from the vet today to bring him home. He was so glad to see me, he purred like crazy. He didn’t even cry in the car like he usually does. He just purred and purred.
When we got home the first thing he tried to do was to jump up on the bed, but he couldn’t manage it. It was one of his back legs that got amputated, and it will take a few days for him to learn how to manage with only three legs. I picked him up and placed him gently on the bed. He looks so pitiful, it is hard to keep from crying when I look at him.
I was so happy to see our cat came back! I opened the door, and he ran inside the house and jumped up on my bed. I went to see him, and to pat him and scold him for being away so long. That was when I noticed that one of his paws was swollen up larger than my fist! I rushed him to the vet, who said that he apparently had been caught in some kind of animal leg-hold trap. I didn’t even know it was trapping season! The vet says that he has to amputate his leg, since gangrene had already set in. He will be keeping the cat at his place for a couple of days. I am so upset!
I am so very upset today. Our cat is missing. I am very worried that some creature had eaten him, or that he has been hit by a car. His normal routine is to go out at night to hunt, and every morning when I would let the dogs out, he would come in the house for a bite to eat and to sleep the day away. Well, this morning he wasn’t there. He still hasn’t come home. I am so worried about him!
Finally got my blog up and running and wanted to give a thanks to my friends Steve and James who helped me with getting my Wordpress blog set up and showed me how to blog.
Of course I am going to write about everything that interests me on and off line on my new blog. After all, that is the reason for getting a blog in the first place! I can have a place to store all my online goodies instead of taking up tons of space on my favorites.
